Colourlock Leather Repair Kit

The Colourlock Leather Fresh Dye Kit without Fresh ND is ideal for repairing scratches, abrasions or slight fading on leather furniture or leather car seats. Smooth leather with minor signs of wear and fading can be repaired using cleaning, repair and care products.

Important: Always check all products for colour changes on a hidden area first!

How to use Colourlock Leather Fresh Dye Kit

1. Cleaning & Preparing

Before refreshing the colour, clean the leather with Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner thoroughly. Deeply ingrained dirt should be removed with the Colourlock Leather Cleaning Brush.

Apply some foam to a sponge or on the brush – never apply directly onto the leather. Clean the leather from seam to seam before rinsing off any residue with a clean moist cloth. Repeat procedure if necessary. Allow to dry away from sunlight and sources of heat.

Surfaces that need to be repaired must be thoroughly degreased with Colourlock Degreaser so that the repair products adhere well. 

2. Repairing

Before refreshing the colour, carefully smooth rough scratches and broken edges with the Colourlock Leather Sanding Pad and then dust off. Deep scratches, dry breaks and small cracks must be closed and stabilised with Colourlock Fluid Leather (not included). Apply smoothly with a spatula and let dry for approx. 2 hours, repeating procedure until the damage is filled.

Fluid leather cannot be sanded smooth. Any remaining irregularities can be smoothed out with the Colourlock GLD Pen ND (not included).

3. Colour Refreshment

Colourlock Leather Fresh (not included) refreshes the colour of scratches, abrasions and signs of wear. Shake well before use! Never apply directly onto the leather – apply with a sponge in circular motion or dab, avoiding streaks.

Work from seam to seam, repeating the procedure if necessary. Allow to dry in between. In areas where greater coverage is required, dab on Leather Fresh several times and dry with a hairdryer on a low heat setting. An irregular application can be evened out with the sanding pad and dyed again.

Leather Fresh is not suitable for recolouring.

4. Maintenance Care

Colourlock Leather Protector is a cream containing a UV-filter complex and antioxidants. It protects full-grain and coated leathers from drying, with regular care significantly increasing the lifespan of leather. 

Always rub the lotion into a soft cloth first and then apply evenly and thinly. One application offers 3 to 6 months protection, depending on level of use.
