Is a dual action polisher the same as a random orbital or orbital polisher?

Not exactly, a dual action (DA) polisher is a broad term for any polisher with two actions in its movement. Random orbital and gear driven (force rotation) polishers are both types of DA polisher.

An orbital polisher is slightly different. It moves in a fixed orbit to replicate hand polishing but does not spin, making it better suited to applying waxes and sealants rather than paint correction.

Random orbital and DA are often used interchangeably, but orbital on its own refers to a separate, less aggressive machine.
