Koch-Chemie W0.01 Hand Wax

Koch-Chemie Hand Wax (175ml pot) comes in a tamper sealed box with a sponge applicator and soft microfibre cloth. This is a premium sealing wax with excellent hydrophobic qualities to achieve the highest depth of gloss. Contains premium carnauba wax which adds protection and longevity on the surface of the paint. The wax acts as a sealant with advanced hydrophobic qualities achieving a superb high gloss deep finish. Only a small amount of wax is needed making it very cost effective in use.
To quote Koch-Chemie, “Water beading redefined.”
Surface Preparation:
- Pre-clean / wash the vehicle thoroughly with an alkaline cleaner (e.g. Green Star, no sealing shampoos) before polishing and sealing.
- Pre-treat coarse soiling such as tree resin, rust film, tar, etc. with cleaning clay, tar washing, etc
- Paint preparation for strongly to medium weathered paints: Depending on the condition, machine polish the paint with Heavy Cut (H9.02) or Fine Cut (F6.01) and remove residues with a microfibre cloth.
- Lightly weathered paints (hologram removal) for high-gloss machine polish with Micro Cut (M3.02) with forced rotation and Micro Cut Pad. Remove residues with a microfibre cloth.
- Wipe all surfaces with a clean microfibre cloth soaked with Silicone & Wax Remover with little pressure and wipe with another microfibre cloth with a second hand immediately before drying. This is the only way to completely remove surfactants, drying aids, oils contained in polishes, etc. and avoid cross-linking problems with the hand wax. Silicone & wax remover should be diluted 1:4 with water in order to avoid possible matting.
- Polish last streaks with another clean professional microfibre cloth without pressure. The vehicle should now have a scratch- and hologram-free surface under direct light.
- After this step, the surface must not be touched with the palms/fingers (danger of cross-linking disturbances, use gloves).
Wax Application:
- The surface is now perfectly prepared for the hand wax.
- To apply, press the supplied sponge lightly into the can and spread the wax evenly over the surface.
- Allow the wax to flash off and polish with a microfibre cloth.
- Always work in sections, e.g. complete bonnet before moving to the next surface.
Vehicle Washing:
In order to have a high-gloss wax surface for a long time and not to remove it too quickly during cleaning, the vehicle should be carefully washed by hand. Use a lot of water, soft washing tools, and only soft, dry towels to gently dry. Hard and aggressive washing utensils will remove waxes faster and scratch the surface.
Areas of use
Painted surfaces and external plastic components on cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles etc.
Warnings
- Before using, check suitability and compatibility.

Me and the Mustang love this magical German pixie dust infused wax!
For me, I don’t want to spend all weekend cleaning the work van, so ceramic coating for that and it's happy and looks lovely and shiny. Quick clean and it’s done!
But when it comes to the pride and joy, I want to spend the time tinkering on the drive and laying a layer of carnauba on top as it relaxes me. I can lock myself away from the world and can chill out!
Now, why this wax? Well for me, it’s an absolute pleasure to apply - couple of panels at a time, and come back to buff off - and it removes so easily. Lasts months and months but I always top it up every 2-3 months anyway.
But for me, it’s the water behaviour as well as the gloss it gives. Beads like a ceramic and makes any car glow! Such a pleasure to use. I have also used FSE over this if needed and no problems whatsoever.
Love this wax!
